The Technology Officer (TO) program was created to address the strategic needs for IT in both instruction and research at the University of Maryland.  The TO provides leadership in an assigned college or school in supporting faculty information technology needs. 

This position serves as a liaison for the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources by maintaining current knowledge of the information technology infrastructure at the university and serving on committees concerned with technology issues, such as an appropriate subcommittee of the IT Council.  In addition, the TO informs the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources of new campus-wide initiatives, such as high performance computing, knowledge management and grid computing.  The TO reports to the Director of Academic Support in OIT and the IT Director at AGNR.
